Meet Information
Location: Horizon Golf Club (16000 Ashford, Horizon City, TX 79928)
Start Time: 7:30 Coaches/Course Monitor Meeting; 8:00 AM Rolling Time Start
Varsity Girls; Varsity Boys; Open Girls; Open Boys
Report Time: All runners should report to the area behind the starting line a minimum of 10
minutes before their race.
Course Map: Please see the course map attached. Printed maps will not be handed out at the
meet. If you want printed maps, please print them on your own.
Team Arrival: Please keep your team camps away from townhome patio/green space. Security
will be stationed along this area to keep camps from getting to close. Teams may camp above
the starting line. Please stay away from all greens.
Buses: If your buses will be staying for the duration of the meet, please direct them to Horizon
High School (see map for parking). Please have your buses park at Horizon High School, (14651
Horizon Blvd, 79928) see Map.
Awards: Top 20 medals will be presented at the finish line and trophies at the conclusion of the
meet.
Scoring & Timing: Timing chip are incorporated into the race-bib / race number. Race numbers
are in race packet. Race number must be visibly displayed, and each corner pinned to the front
of the jersey – chest area. RUNNERS MUST COMPLETE THE RACE WITH A BIB NUMBER. For
varsity divisions 10 total runners per school may enter the race. 9th & JV division are unlimited.
*** Changes – report to the finish line at the beginning of the meet if you have any changes to
the entries you submitted on runnercard (moving kids from varsity to open or open to varsity).
Race Structure: For each race, teams will start in assigned box. Team boxes will be five feet
wide, enough to put your top three runners on the line with the rest of the team lined up
behind. Space on the left side of the start line will be provided for runners without teams (you
must have five runners in a team box). While space will be limited, we do have more room on
the start line than we did on the old Chamizal course. We’ll make it work.
Finish Line: There will be a chute. Runners will cross the finish line and be guided towards the
recovery area. Water will be available only for runners as finish. They will walk by, get a cup of
water, and continue into the recovery area. Only runners who have just finished racing should
be in the recovery area. Please instruct your team to stay away from the finish line – times will
be posted on runnercard (chips in the bib may skew or delay results if runners return to the
finish area to ask for times/places).
Spectators: Spectators must stay off the racecourse as marked and away from the starting line
and finish line...and greens. It is important that you communicate this to your parents. No dogs
or pets on the course. We are guests on this golf course and want to continue to utilize it as our
All City and District course.
Media: Media must stay off the racecourse as marked but will have a designated area by the
finish line to take pictures.
A HUGE ask..... Please help us keep the venue nice and clean. We will be giving out garbage bags and we
ask that you have your teams use them and take it back to your campus dumpster.
