DESCRIPTION:
The Wagon Wheel 5K will serve a dual purpose:
TUNE-UP RACE FOR NIKE SOUTHWEST
This meet will be a great tune up for Nike Southwest Regionals giving your athletes the opportunity to run a fast 5k on the track.
SENIOR HIGHLIGHT
This meet will also be a great format and setting to recognize the Seniors on your team. Teams will be provided time during the middle of the meet to Highlight senior athletes achievements and contributions.
FORMAT:
Races will be organized in heats according to 5k times.
The “Varsity” race will feature each team's top 5 athletes.
The meet will be scored the same as a cross country race.
Races will begin @ 10:00am moving slowest to fastest.
The Varsity races will be the final races of the day.
**Each team will be responsible to take an accurate lap count for their own athletes.**
AWARDS:
Awards will be given to the top 10 finishers in the varsity races, and top 3 finishers in every other race.
Team trophies will be awarded to the first place team in both the girls and boys varsity races.
ENTRY FEE:
Entry fee is $100 per boys’ and girls’ teams, $200 total per school.
$10 each for Individual runners entering without a full team.
