Event Information

Snowflakes fly and frosty temperatures blanket Wyoming, but in the midst of it all, pristine sculpted ice creates a dream-like atmosphere in the City of Green River. Join us for a weekend of winter fun at the 2016 Crystal Classic Winter Festival. Green River's Expedition Island will be alive with lights, music, decorations, food, professional ice sculpting, vendors and fun competitions for all ages to enjoy on Friday, February 12th and Saturday, February 13th.

Things kick off Friday evening at 4:30 PM with the Individual People’s Choice Professional Ice Carving Event, followed by a Soup Cook Off Competition, Live Band, Ice Bar and S ‘mores Stations.

The fun continues with a jam packed Saturday, beginning with the Pancake Breakfast, hosted by Boy Scout Troop 312, and the Frostbite 5K Walk/Run. The breakfast and 5K registration/awards are in the warm pavilion. The rest of the day includes: Individual NICA Ice Sculpting Competition, Snow Boot Softball Tournament, Art Walk, Family Treasure Hunt, Ice Cube Hunt (for ages 1-10) and an exciting surprise performance. The Pavilion will be open for the entire event, providing a place to eat and warm up while all the festivities are taking place.

Register online here for the 5K! This is a predict your time race, with awards going to the most accurate runners in matching their race time to their predicted finish time. To make it fair, timing devices are not allowed in the race (wrist watches, phones, fitness bands, etc.) and the finish clock will be facing away from the runners. (You must complete the race in one hour or less to be considered for awards as part of the predicted finish time.)
