Event Information

Welcome to the first annual Springville Hobble before you Gobble Thanksgiving morning 5K and Children's Fun Run, sponsored by Hobble Creek Dental (who I trust personally with my family's dental care.)

Run through Springville's beautiful farmland with friends and family to begin the day with community and wellness! Every participant who registers before Nov 9 is guaranteed a race beanie. WE ARE SOLD OUT OF BEANIES. But you can still register to run and participate in the raffle. We ordered 500 beanies and we made it to Nov 22nd before we ran out! Next year we will order even more. If you missed the beanies in registration you can still come to the registration tent after the event and see if there are any extras from no shows. All proceeds will go to a community sub for santa initiative. We are so honored to be sponsored and mentored by Karlberg Racing while we explore our first event. Karlberg racing hosts many amazing events in Utah County, including Payson Orchards Triathlon, Splash Summit Triathlon and the Goldilocks bike race.

Location:
The race will begin at Community Park (711 N 950 W, Springville, UT 84663) and head north to 900 N where runners turn west and follow the road until a sign directs them to turn left at 1050 W, just before the train tracks. From there runners will continue south to center street where volunteers will be ready to hand out water before you turn left again and run until a sign directs you to turn left back on 950 W. The 5K will finish back at community park. We are unable to support a 10K this year but hope to add it next year.

Children's Fun Run begins at 9:30 am

Prizes:
Between the 5K and the Fun Run we will be holding a raffle based on your bib number to give away Thanksgiving pies. 5K and Fun Run participants are eligible for the raffle.

Inclement Weather:
We will race in almost any weather! If the city deems the weather unsafe you can still pick up your beanie and swag bag with our deepest regrets. Refunds will not be issued based on weather or cancellation due solely to the fact that all expenses will have already been paid for.

Packet Pick Up: IF YOU REGISTER AFTER 5AM on THURSDAY NOV 24TH you won't be on the master list. Please just let the check in table know.

1. ONLY FOR THOSE REGISTERED BEFORE 9:15PM on TUESDAY NOV 22ND: Early packet pick up will be at Hobble Creek Dental Care (143 E 200 S, Springville, UT 84663) on Wednesday Nov. 23rd from 9am-1pm. You are welcome and encouraged to pick up packets for friends and family to simplify the process for yourselves and for us!

2. General packet pick up will be at the event (711 N 950 W, Springville, UT 84663) beginning at 6:45am. 5k, please have your pick up complete by 7:45am so you can begin the race on time. Fun Run, please have your pick up complete by 9:15am for the same reason.

Parking:
Parking is limited so we highly encourage carpooling with friends and family. There are two parking lots at community park: one on the south end and one at the north end of the field. There is also convenient overflow parking in the dirt area west of the north parking lot. There is also street parking on the nearby roads and additional overflow parking is available at Ray Arthur Park and the neighboring church about half a mile south of Community park. Please avoid parking along the race course.

Raffle:
The raffle will begin at approximately 9AM. This will allow both 5k runners and fun run runners to participate. Winners will be randomly drawn based on bib numbers. You must be present to claim your prizes. We have holiday hams, lots of thanksgiving pies and a ton of technical t-shirts to giveaway!

Race Winners:
1. Medals will be awarded to the top three overall men and female racers. Medals will also be awarded to the top three in each age division, including the fun run.

2 The top three (under age 13) fun run winners will also receive a medal. This race will not be chipped time so it will be determined by the first three participants to cross the finish line.

1. There will be no awards ceremony. Instead if you believe you are in the top three based on the card print out and/or the results website that you can access through the QR code on your bib, please go to the awards table to confirm and claim your medal. We will celebrate you there!
