It's that time of year again!
We are excited to be hosting the 14th annual winter hurdle clinic with multiple high level hurdle coaches. This clinic is for athletes 9th grade and up.
At this clinic you will get coaching and direction on proper warm up, sprint drills, hurdle drills, speed and agility drills, proper start positions, shin splint prevention, and of course lots of hurdling!!!
Cost includes entrance into the oval, T shirt, and snack
Backpacks can be purchased for an additional fee

A bit about some of the coaches.

Coach Jamie West - Coach West has been a track and field coach for 17+ years. Coach West hurdled at Davis High School and went on to hurdle at Weber State University. She has been a head coach at both Davis and Morgan High Schools and has been a hurdle coach at Davis, Morgan, and Layton High School. In high school and college, she made it onto multiple all time lists as well as set Davis Highs school record in the 100m, 55m, and 60m hurdles. She was a 2-time state champion in the 100m hurdles. Coach West has enjoyed coaching hurdlers from all over the State as well as some hurdlers internationally. Last year one of her online clients became a National Champion in India. She has coached 5 State Record holders; 2 in the 60m hurdles, 1 in the 55m hurdles, 1 in the 110 hurdles, and 1 in the 300m hurdles. She has also coached 15 individual state champions and 64 state placers in the hurdles (placed top 6). She loves to teach youth and push them to their best achievements!

Coach Greg Flint - Coach Flint has many great achievements in hurdling with the biggest being that he competed at the Olympic Trials in 2004. He was one of the top hurdlers in the nation at his time Competing at BYU winning many meets. In high school he set State records and was a two-time State Champion. He now enjoys sharing his hurdle knowledge with others. Coach Flint brings such a great background, experience, and knowledge to the clinic this year.


Coach Ruby Waltman - Ruby just finished up her running career at the University of Utah list past spring. During her time there she has had much success in the hurdles making it onto all time list and winning some meets. Ruby competed at the pac 12 championships in the 400m hurdles. While in high school Ruby was one of the best hurdlers the state has seen. Winning a 300m hurdle State Champion title. This Fall Ruby has been helping assistant coach at West Hurdle Training. Ruby brings a great depth of experience and knowledge to the clinic this year.

Coach Payton Suitter- Payton hurdled at Bingham High School where he achieved great success. His junior year he was one of the top hurdlers in the state. He placed 2 nd at State in the 110m hurdles and made it to finals in the 300m hurdles. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic he did not get to reach his goals for his senior year. Payton is a master technician and studies and applies all hurdle technique. Payton coaches at Orem High and has helped coach many hurdlers to have success throughout the season and at the State finals and a couple of State Champions! Payton is incredibly knowledgeable and brings a great asset to the technical part of hurdle coaching.

Coach Porter Sweat - Porter didnt try out hudling until his Jr. year in high school but quickly became and amazing hurdler. This past year Porter coached at Davis High School and had great success getting multiple atheltes to State. Porter is the new coach at Clearfield high school where he will bring much success.
